Art therapy is a universal type of psychotherapy that helps to solve many problems in the process of recovery of military personnel and combatants. During the work, the traumatic experience is transferred to visual materials, which encourages non-verbal expression, and the use of protective and communicative aspects of metaphorical speech with images.
This week, a group art therapy session was held for patients of the Medical and Psychological Rehabilitation Department. The session was conducted by Anna Pizhurina, a practical psychologist. During the session, each participant had the opportunity to share their feelings and communicate with others in a friendly atmosphere. The session ended with a presentation of drawings and a circle of feelings.
